The Pesado Black/Silver Tamper is a precision tool designed for tamping coffee grounds with accuracy. Ideal for baristas and coffee enthusiasts seeking to enhance their brewing consistency, this tamper features a 58.5mm diameter and a precision machined 90-degree edge that maximises basket coverage. Made from durable 316 grade stainless steel and complemented by a high-quality POM handle, it ensures optimal balance and stability during use, contributing to a more even extraction and improved flavour profile in your coffee.
The PESADO 58.5 tamper has been created to perfect the coffee tamping procedure. Our tamper diameter is 58.5mm with a precision machined 90 degree edge to maximise basket coverage.
The sharp edges extend the effective tamping area and get full coverage of the basket, leaving no residue and maximising consistency. Reducing un-tamped grounds means reducing the chance of channelling, and increased consistency over the coffee puck will result in a more even extraction and a higher extraction yield.
These premium modular handles have been developed for those with luxury in mind. Complement the metallic features in your coffee machine and home set up while utilising the perfect balance of the stainless steel handle and precision base together.
MATERIALS:
Base – 316 grade stainless steel.
POM Handle – Polyoxymethylene. An engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability.
Modular Metallic End – Electro polish stainless steel (Available in 4 metallic colours).
TAMPER HEIGHT: 91mm
WEIGHT:
53.5mm Tamper – 490g
58.5mm Tamper – 545g
The Pesado Black/Silver Tamper is suitable for both home baristas and professional coffee enthusiasts. Its precision design and 58.5mm diameter make it ideal for espresso machines that require this specific size, ensuring optimal tamping for a consistent extraction. Whether you are brewing coffee for personal enjoyment or in a café setting, this tamper enhances the quality of your espresso by reducing channelling and improving extraction yield.
The Pesado Black/Silver Tamper features a 58.5mm base diameter, which is specifically designed for espresso baskets of the same size. The tamper height is 91mm, and it weighs 545g. The base is made from 316 grade stainless steel, providing durability and stability, while the handle is crafted from Polyoxymethylene, known for its high stiffness and low friction properties. This combination ensures a consistent and effective tamping process.
The Pesado Black/Silver Tamper is compatible with espresso machines that use a 58.5mm basket. It is essential to check your machine's specifications to ensure that this tamper will fit properly. The precision machined edge of the tamper maximises basket coverage, making it effective for achieving an even extraction across various espresso setups.
Maintaining the Pesado Black/Silver Tamper is straightforward. After each use, it is recommended to wipe the tamper base with a damp cloth to remove coffee residue. The stainless steel base is resistant to corrosion, but avoid using abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surface. For deeper cleaning, you can use mild soap and water. Ensure the handle is kept dry to maintain its quality over time.
Compared to other tampers, the Pesado Black/Silver Tamper stands out due to its precision machined base and modular handle design. Its 58.5mm size is standard for many espresso machines, but the sharp edges and weight of this tamper help to reduce channelling and improve extraction consistency. While some tampers may be lighter or made from different materials, the combination of stainless steel and Polyoxymethylene in this model provides an excellent balance of durability and performance.
The Pesado Black/Silver Tamper comes with a manufacturer's warranty, which typically covers defects in materials and workmanship. For specific warranty details, it is advisable to check with the retailer or the manufacturer's website. In Australia, customer support is available for any inquiries regarding the product, ensuring that you can receive assistance if needed.
