The Pesado Clump Crusher is a barista tool designed to improve espresso preparation by breaking up clumps in the coffee puck. This tool is ideal for baristas and coffee enthusiasts who want to achieve a more even density in their espresso, enhancing the overall coffee experience. Featuring a removable needle system with a total of eight needles, the clump crusher allows for easy cleaning and customization, making it a practical addition to any coffee setup.
The Pesado Wooden Clump Crusher is a WDT distribution tool that breaks up clumps, fluffs the puck and evens out density before tamping — for smoother, more consistent shots. Its eight 45mm needles reach deep into the coffee bed to redistribute grounds without over-disturbing the puck, reducing channelling and improving flow uniformity for higher, more repeatable extractions.
The removable birch wood leva end comes in Pesado’s signature Riga finish — vacuum-dyed and sealed with a heat- and water-resistant wax for lasting durability. Each needle is individually replaceable, so you can swap one rather than the whole tool, and it’s designed to match Pesado’s wooden portafilter and tamper sets.
The Pesado Clump Crusher - Riga is designed for baristas and coffee enthusiasts who want to improve their espresso preparation. By using the Weiss Distribution Technique (WDT), it helps to break up clumps in the coffee puck, ensuring a more even density. This technique is essential for achieving a consistent extraction and enhancing the overall coffee experience.
The Pesado Clump Crusher - Riga weighs 33 grams and features a removable needle system consisting of eight needles. Each needle has a length of 45mm and a thickness of 0.3mm. The clump crusher is made from cross-layered birch wood that is vacuum dyed for durability and long-lasting colour.
While the Pesado Clump Crusher - Riga is designed to work with a variety of coffee grinders, compatibility may vary depending on the grinder's design and the size of the coffee puck. It is advisable to ensure that your grinder produces a suitable puck size for optimal use of the clump crusher.
To maintain the Pesado Clump Crusher - Riga, regularly clean the needles to prevent coffee residue build-up. The removable needle system allows for easy cleaning and replacement. Simply remove the needles and wash them with warm, soapy water, then dry thoroughly before reassembling. Avoid using abrasive cleaners that could damage the wood.
The Pesado Clump Crusher - Riga stands out due to its removable needle system, which allows for easy cleaning and customisation. Many other WDT tools may lack this feature, making it more challenging to maintain. Additionally, the quality materials used in the Pesado Clump Crusher contribute to its durability and performance.
The Pesado Clump Crusher - Riga is backed by a warranty that covers manufacturing defects. For support, customers can reach out to the retailer where the product was purchased. It is recommended to keep the original receipt for warranty claims. Additionally, many retailers offer customer service to assist with any questions or concerns regarding the product.
