The Turin DF64 Variable Speed Single Dose Grinder is a high-performance espresso grinder designed for home baristas and prosumer enthusiasts. It features a variable-speed motor that allows users to adjust the burr speed from 600 to 1,800 rpm, enabling precise control over grind consistency and flavour profile. With its 64mm DLC-coated flat burrs and zero retention design, this grinder ensures every shot is freshly ground, making it an excellent choice for those who value clarity in their espresso and pour-over coffee.
The Turin DF64V is the variable-speed flagship of the DF64 range — a single-dose espresso grinder built for home baristas and prosumer enthusiasts who want full control over every variable in the grind. At its heart sits a 64mm flat burr set with DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating — a hard, low-friction surface treatment that extends burr life roughly 10× over uncoated steel and keeps cuts consistent shot after shot. What sets the DF64V apart from the standard DF64 Gen 2 is its variable-speed 300W motor, adjustable from 600 to 1,800 rpm via a side-mounted rotary knob paired with an easy-to-read LED display. Slow burr speeds produce a tighter, more uniform particle distribution favoured for clarity-focused espresso and pour-over, while higher speeds run faster for milk-based drinks and lighter roasts — letting the barista actively dial in flavour profile, not just grind size. Even at the maximum 1,800 rpm, the DF64V is remarkably quiet thanks to its brushless DC motor design. Single-dose workflow with zero retention means every shot is freshly ground, while the integrated bellows system clears the chamber completely between doses. A magnetic detachable outlet chute and anti-popcorning device snap off cleanly for fast cleaning, and the new built-in grind size indicator eliminates the external adjustment ring of earlier generations — making dial-in faster and more intuitive. Finished in matte black with an all-aluminium body, the DF64V delivers genuine prosumer performance with the kind of fine control usually reserved for grinders 2–3× the price.
The Turin DF64 Variable Speed Single Dose Grinder is ideal for home baristas and prosumer enthusiasts. It caters to those who seek precise control over their grind settings, allowing them to tailor the grind size and speed to suit different coffee types and brewing methods. This grinder is perfect for individuals who appreciate the nuances of espresso and pour-over coffee, as well as those who want to experiment with various flavour profiles.
The Turin DF64 Variable Speed Grinder features a 64mm DLC-coated flat burr set, which enhances grind consistency and extends burr life. It is powered by a 300W brushless DC motor with a variable speed range of 600 to 1,800 rpm, adjustable via a side-mounted rotary knob. The grinder has a single-dose workflow, ensuring zero retention, and includes an integrated bellows system for complete chamber clearance between doses. The grinder is finished in matte black with an all-aluminium body.
The Turin DF64 Variable Speed Grinder is compatible with all types of coffee beans, including light, medium, and dark roasts. Its variable speed motor allows users to adjust the grind speed to suit different beans and brewing methods. For clarity-focused espresso and pour-over, a slower burr speed is recommended, while higher speeds are better for milk-based drinks and lighter roasts.
Maintaining the Turin DF64 Variable Speed Grinder is straightforward. The grinder features a magnetic detachable outlet chute and an anti-popcorning device that can be easily removed for cleaning. Regularly cleaning the burrs and the grinding chamber is essential to ensure optimal performance and flavour consistency. The integrated bellows system helps clear the chamber completely between doses, reducing the need for extensive cleaning.
The Turin DF64 Variable Speed Grinder stands out in its class due to its variable speed motor and DLC-coated burrs, which provide superior grind consistency and longevity compared to many competitors. While other grinders may offer fixed speeds or less durable burrs, the DF64V allows users to adjust the grind speed for different brewing methods, making it more versatile for various coffee styles. Its price point also offers prosumer-level performance without the premium cost associated with similar high-end grinders.
The Turin DF64 Variable Speed Grinder typically comes with a warranty that covers manufacturing defects and issues arising from normal use. Specific warranty details may vary, so it's advisable to check with the retailer or manufacturer for the exact terms. Support is generally available through the retailer, and they can assist with any inquiries or servicing needs for the grinder within Australia.

Had my ECM Synchronika serviced by Espresso Works recently and figured the service was worth writing a review of my excellent experience. I bought my machine second hand and immediately encountered a leak from my flow control valve. Another 5-star rated company charged me an absolute fortune and didn't resolve the issue until the second visit. I had to show them how to fix the leak, and that it was two perished o-rings that caused it. The fix only requires 10 minutes of work and a few dollars in parts. They also returned my machine with a dent and several scratches. The reason I include this anecdote is because it doesn't seem uncommon for companies to offer servicing and repairs for premium machines and not actually know what they're doing or take any care in the quality of their work. Espresso Works is a welcome exception to this. Meaghan organised for Dom to both collect and return my machine; both times were prompt and on time. When it was returned, all surfaces had been wiped down and looked almost new again. All my valves, levers and taps are smoother and quieter than I'd have expected them to be on a several year old machine! They listened to what my concerns were about the machine before pickup and these were reflected in the service report on my invoice where each issue was looked into. In short, I highly recommend Espresso Works to anyone with a premium machine, especially those with ECM machines, as the work done on mine is fantastic and the experience interacting with their company was great.Posted on Google![]()

Top quality customer service. Great product range for high-end home coffee machines. I had small issues with my Torre Peppina. They sent a technician straight away to get it fixed and followed up to ensure the machine was working perfectly. I recommend buying with a local like Espresso Works Perth WA for the extra assistance post-sale.Posted on Google![]()
