The Mazzer Major VP Electronic Black Coffee Grinder is a high-performance flat burr grinder designed for high-volume cafés and specialty venues. With its high-torque asynchronous motor and tailor-made 83mm flat burrs, it delivers a uniform grind size that enhances the sweetness and flavour profile of coffee. The grinder features a touch display with programmable dose settings and IoT functionality for real-time monitoring, making it an efficient choice for busy environments where precision and consistency are essential.
The Mazzer Major VP Electronic is the fastest grinder in the V line and the flagship flat burr workhorse of Mazzer’s commercial range. Hand-built in Venice, Italy, the Major VP brings together power and gentleness through innovative engineering — higher grinding speeds with lower revolutions per minute (900 rpm at 50Hz). It’s the ideal choice for high-volume coffee shops, roasteries, and specialty venues that demand a flat burr grinder fast enough for peak service yet gentle enough on the bean to deliver full-bodied extractions rich in flavour and taste.
The defining feature of the Major VP is its high-torque asynchronous motor, designed to grind high volumes of coffee without overheating. The lower-revolution motor produces less noise, less component strain, and a longer lifespan for the grinder and its parts — meaning the Major VP just keeps going through the morning rush, lunch service, and beyond. Tailor-made 83mm 2.0 flat burrs (K151H) re-engineered with high-carbon steel reduce thermal strain and deliver sharper geometries for a uniform grind size distribution. The result, according to Major VP users, is coffee with more sweetness, ripe fruit notes, a richer body, and an especially clean and lingering finish. A double fan cooling system protects beans from heat exposure across long grinding sessions.
The Electronic version features a touch display configurable in 19 languages, with three programmable buttons for single, double, and triple doses (accurate to one hundredth of a second) plus a fourth manual button for precise fine tuning. IoT functionality is included as standard — letting baristas, roasters, owners, and service technicians remotely access real-time grind reports via the cloud for monitoring output, tracking usage, and scheduling maintenance proactively. The state-of-the-art Grind Flow Control (GFC) system reduces electrostatic charge and prevents clumping with two interchangeable wire dampers (Hybrid and AntiDust). Distinctive sporty styling with red anodised details on the Memory Track ring, knurled knob, and back plate sets the VP apart from the standard Major V — and with more than 94% of the grinder’s weight made up of sustainable premium materials, it’s built to last and built to be recycled.

The Mazzer Major VP Electronic Coffee Grinder is ideal for high-volume cafés, roasteries, and specialty coffee venues. Its high-performance capabilities make it suitable for environments that require consistent and efficient grinding during peak service times. The grinder's design caters to establishments that prioritise quality and speed in coffee preparation.
The Mazzer Major VP features a 650W high-torque asynchronous motor designed for high-volume grinding without overheating. It operates at 900 rpm at 50Hz, utilising 83mm 2.0 flat burrs made from special high-carbon steel. This combination allows for faster grinding speeds and uniform particle distribution, contributing to the overall quality of the coffee.
The Mazzer Major VP is compatible with a range of coffee machines and accessories commonly used in commercial settings. It is designed to work effectively with espresso machines, ensuring that the grind size can be adjusted to meet specific brewing requirements. Additionally, its IoT functionality allows for integration with monitoring systems for efficient operation.
Maintaining the Mazzer Major VP involves regular cleaning and servicing to ensure optimal performance. The grinder features a double fan cooling system that helps protect beans from heat exposure. It's recommended to clean the burrs and the grinding chamber periodically to prevent clumping and maintain grind quality. Regular checks on the motor and electronic components are also advised to prolong the grinder's lifespan.
Compared to other grinders in the Mazzer range, the Major VP stands out due to its high-torque asynchronous motor and lower RPM operation, which reduces noise and thermal strain. Its advanced features, such as the Grind Flow Control system and IoT functionality, provide additional advantages for high-volume environments. This makes it a flagship model suitable for demanding coffee service.
The Mazzer Major VP Electronic Coffee Grinder typically comes with a warranty that covers manufacturing defects. Customers in Australia can access support through authorised dealers and service centres, ensuring that any issues can be addressed promptly. It's advisable to check with the retailer for specific warranty details and available support options.

Had my ECM Synchronika serviced by Espresso Works recently and figured the service was worth writing a review of my excellent experience. I bought my machine second hand and immediately encountered a leak from my flow control valve. Another 5-star rated company charged me an absolute fortune and didn't resolve the issue until the second visit. I had to show them how to fix the leak, and that it was two perished o-rings that caused it. The fix only requires 10 minutes of work and a few dollars in parts. They also returned my machine with a dent and several scratches. The reason I include this anecdote is because it doesn't seem uncommon for companies to offer servicing and repairs for premium machines and not actually know what they're doing or take any care in the quality of their work. Espresso Works is a welcome exception to this. Meaghan organised for Dom to both collect and return my machine; both times were prompt and on time. When it was returned, all surfaces had been wiped down and looked almost new again. All my valves, levers and taps are smoother and quieter than I'd have expected them to be on a several year old machine! They listened to what my concerns were about the machine before pickup and these were reflected in the service report on my invoice where each issue was looked into. In short, I highly recommend Espresso Works to anyone with a premium machine, especially those with ECM machines, as the work done on mine is fantastic and the experience interacting with their company was great.Posted on Google![]()

Top quality customer service. Great product range for high-end home coffee machines. I had small issues with my Torre Peppina. They sent a technician straight away to get it fixed and followed up to ensure the machine was working perfectly. I recommend buying with a local like Espresso Works Perth WA for the extra assistance post-sale.Posted on Google![]()
